Funeral services for Claudette Springman will be at the Erin Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.

Claudette Springman was born Wednesday April 13, 1932, in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Ernest and Frankie Belle (Thompson) Hawkins and died Wednesday January 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family, in Springer, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 4 days.

Claudette grew up in Bradley, Oklahoma with her sisters and brother. She was an accomplished basketball player. After graduation from Bradley High School and attending Business Administration classes, she worked for Bell Telephone in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She married John H. Springman, June 26, 1950, and they raised three children. Moving to Davis Oklahoma she returned to her farming roots, assisting in all aspects of farm life. After a few years, the family moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma, where she worked for over 20 years as the lab technician for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. In 1978, Springer OK became her home. After retiring, she became active in the community serving on the Carter County Election Board, Springer Helping Hands, and as a substitute teacher at Springer High School. She was always seen working in the yard, garden, and her beautiful flower beds. She loved her family to the fullest, all five generations, and was often at one of their ball games. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ernest, and Frankie Belle Hawkins; Siblings, Gail Smelley, Joy Hawkins, and Sam Hawkins; sister-in-law, Mary Robertson and son-in-law, Jim Massey.
