Marguerite was the daughter of Ernest L. Nickerson and Ruby Clough Nickerson. She married David E. Rooney (died 22 Jun 1928 in Lowell, Massachusetts) with whom she had 4 children: Mary Rooney Lane, David Rooney, Claire Rooney Woodhead and Edward M. Rooney. She then married Roland Heald and had two daughters, Alice M. Heald and Marguerite Heald Gowin. Marguerite was originally buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich, CT. but later moved to Heart Pond Cemetery in Chelmsford, MA.

The order of Eastern Star ritual was conducted under the direction of Mrs. Ethel Taft and Edward W. Rice of Oneco chapter.
Internment was in Maplewood Cemetery where Rev. Mr. Reid conducted the committal. The bearers were Russell Linsted, Frederick Lane, Royce Parker of Chelmsford, Mass., and David and Edward Rooney of Uncasville.
