MOUNT PLEASANT - Services for Catherine Burgess, 86, of Mount Pleasant, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Omaha, with Pastor Courtney Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Reynolds Cemetery of Daingerfield. Arrangements are by Tumey Mortuary. Mrs. Burgess died April 18, 2008, in Tyler.
Born December 29, 1921, in Omaha, she was a longtime teacher, having retired from Daingerfield High School, and member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Frances Eileen Burgess; brothers, Arthur Wright and Burnon Charles Wright; and sisters, Dossie Bryson, Georgia Murray and Constance Whitmore.
