She was born to Boyd Evon Murphy and Lois Earline Compton Murphy on November 8, 1941 in Alabama.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Cagle (Assima), stepson, Brooks Adams, daughters, Jennifer Roberts, Christy Wentz (Gary), stepdaughter, Carol Adams, four sisters, Helen Lowery, Betty Tashjian, Judy Miller (Gary), Vickie Lofton, (John), brother, Roger Murphy, five grandchildren, Brandon Thrasher (Colleen), Allyson Gilliam (Mark), Abby Cagle, Sophie Cagle, Max Cagle, step- grandchildren, Noah Adams, Rebecca Adams, and Elizabeth Cundiff.

To know Joyce was to love her. She never met a stranger and was always interested in everyone she met. Her kind, genuine, sweet nature was shared with all who knew her.

Her love of travel carried her all over the world but the most important thing to her was not the destination or the journey, it was the love she had for her family. Nothing meant more to her than bringing everyone together any chance she could. She will be greatly missed beyond measure and we will always love her to the moon and back.
