Bill Bennett 97 entered heaven on 11-29-2023. Born on 5-6-1926, he was the middle child of nine children born to Harvey
Alexander Bennett & Myrtle Gertrude Knight and was preceded in death by parents and all of his siblings.
While at Tech High School, age 17, he enlisted in the Navy Air Corp during World War II. After serving three years at Barron Field near Gulf Shore, AL, he was honorably discharged.
He worked as an electrical apprentice .............He met Ruby Nell Hargrove of Decatur and they were married for 72 years before she died 4-11-2020. ..........
Survived by five children: Lynda Cantrell (Bill), Stephen Bennett, Teresa McHugh (preceded in death by Scott), Robin Hall (Ken), Lisa Martin (Rob); 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. ........
Members of Rehoboth Baptist in Tucker for 50+ years, where he was a deacon ...... and owner of Bennett Electric Company which he ran for over 40 years before retiring.
After moving to Lilburn, he joined First Baptist of Lilburn.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday 12-9-2023 at First Baptist Lilburn, GA. Interment be 12-11 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
