He served in the United States Navy as Chief Petty Officer, and retired in 1981 after 23 years of service. He lived in Pensacola, Florida until his death. He was committed with Full Military Honors at the National Cemetery in Corinth, Mississippi on June 11, 1996. Services were held at City Road C.M.E. Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Agnew, daughter, Sheena Milhouse, and granddaughter Angel Wilson; his parents, Quitman Sr.and Bertha Agnew; three brothers, Morris Betts, Jerry and Charles Agnew; four sisters, Elios Simmons, Ida Agnew, Paulette Justice, and Jane Alexander; a special nephew, Everett Agnew, and a special aunt "Aunt Sis"; and GREAT many other relatives and friends.
