REV. EDWARD "Ned" CROWE ELLIOTT, 89, of Memphis, passed away at home Thursday, April 17, 2008. He was a devoted Catholic Priest serving the Dioceses of Nashville and since 1971 Memphis. He was an outstanding church-man. His strong faith, love of people and nurturing compassion will be remembered by all who knew him. Father "Ned" was ordained to the Priesthood in 1944. During his priesthood he served the church in various capacities: assistant pastor, chaplain, parish administrator, and pastor. He also served on numerous boards, councils and committees. He has been an active member of the Knights of Columbus for many years and served as chaplain and state wide faithful friar. He was a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol, National Association of Priest Pilots, Germantown Community Theater, Germantown Ministerial Association, and the Collierville Ministerial Association. He retired from administrative duties the summer of 1986 and continued to provide liturgical assistance to a number of parishes and missions in Tennessee and Arkansas until last year. He is survived by his sister, Eileen Dugan and nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 5-8 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown with Vigil prayer service to begin at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 22 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown, with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions made in his name to Villa Vianney Priests Retirement - Residence - Diocese of Memphis will be appreciated.
