Joe Antone Bonifay, 78, who resides at Bonifay Place, West Pensacola, died Friday morning at a local hospital.

Mr. Bonifay, a lifelong resident of Pensacola, was a member of the Myrtle Grove Methodist Church. He was a former employ of the L&N Railroad Co., and a member of Escambia Masonic Lodge No. 15. He was a Scottish Rite Mason.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Bonifay of Pensacola; four daughters, Mrs. Annie Shelby, Mrs. Hattie Bancroft, Mrs. Edith Johnson and Mrs. Elsie Yonker, all of Pensacola; two sons, Joe E. Bonifay and Frank A. Bonifay, both of Pensacola; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Elizabeth Bonifay Spence Simmons, Mrs. Margaret Vallia, Mrs. Adell Herring and Miss Ada Briggs all of Pensacola; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Myrtle Grove Methodist Church with the Rev. Rex Mixson officiating. The body will be moved from Fisher-Pou Chapel to the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Bodies.

Active Pallbearers will be J. R. Scott, E. J. Nix, Theodore Lutz, W. G. Kirksey, K. D. Vallia and Robert Central. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park with Masonic Services at the grave.

Escambia Masonic Lodge No. 15 will open lodge at 1 p.m. Sunday to attend funeral.

Fisher-Pou Funeral Service will direct.
