Command Sergeant Major, Clayton Laughton Jackson, Jr., United States Army, Retired, of Twin City, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Ogeechee Area Hospice.

Clayton was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and was a son of Clayton and Ada Pearl Jackson. He had a bachelor's degree in business administration and was retired from the United States Army after twenty-seven years of service. While in the Army, Clayton served in the Special Forces as an Airborne Ranger and received the National Defensed Service Medal for his service.

Surviving are his wife, Sheila Gail Gregg Jackson of Twin City, a daughter, Anna Maria Lewis (Larry) of Reidsville; a son, Robert Charles Crosby (Faith) of Winter Haven, Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glenville, Georgia with military honors.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
