He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Eugene Allison. He is survived by his wife, Luberne G. Allison; two sons, Rev. Greg Allison and wife, Gail, of Raleigh and David Victor Allison, of the home; one daughter, Darlene Allison Pate, of Creedmoor; three grandchildren, Lori P. Gilbert, Gerrad Allison and Geth Allison and two great-grandchildren, Jason and Mark Bowen.


Mr. Allison was born in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Victor and Jessie Banes Allison. He had lived in Durham most of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded a Purple Heart. Mr. Allison retired from Newton Instrument Company in the Security Department. He was a Charter member of Bible Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 20 years and taught Sunday School. For many years he had a ministry to veterans. He loved his home and his family.
