Born in Vienna, Austria. She came through New York to Memphis, Tennessee to live with Lowenstein Family, where she worked as a seamstress. Married John T. Corbett in Memphis. For several years, they operated a saloon near the intersection of 6th Street and Auction Avenue in old north Memphis. The young couple, together with the first three of their children, lived upstairs above the saloon. They later moved to property "out in the county", first to Spottswood Avenue, then to the southeast corner of Semmes Street and Carnes Avenue, in a large 2 story plus attic and basement white house at 3047 Carnes. The children were Edna, John, Eugene(who died at age 15), Unnamed Infant Boy (still born), Joseph, William, Robert, and Emma. Husband, John Thomas Corbett, died in 1949. She loved children and animals, especially dogs. She was the epitome of the smiling, loving grandmother, gentle of word and touch. Near the time of her death, she owned a beautiful Cocker Spaniel dog named 'Tag'.
