Late one night I was reading a true story book called " Two Bobbies" about a dog and cat. I heard a strange meow off in the distance and when I looked out my window on the front porce there was a huge male Maine Coon cat. He was very hungry and thin but large in size. He had ripped into a bag of garbage scraps of food. We decided to call him "Bobby" from the book. He seemed to love all the attention and stayed on the porce for several days until we took him inside. Bobby looked as if he would have been a fancy show cat, he was huge and beautiful like a lion ,but no one in the neighborhood knew where he came from. He got along well with our female cats but never liked our male cat Dunkin who loved to bully Bobby at every time he saw him. Bobby started bulling Dunkin and fighting began. We considered finding another home for Bobby at one point when the fights became danergous, but he was so majestic and gentle with the girls. We loved him dearly and he was part of the family. Over time Bobby and Dunkin worked out their differences and seemed to make a truce over land territory and the girls. Things had settled down then tragedy struck Bobby disappreared late one night soon after Dunkin also had disappeared. We think a large coyote got them both. Bobby had been very nervous in the weeks before his death he was peeing in the garage at night. We tried to make him stay inside to sleep but he got out on the night of his disappearance and we never saw him again. It was only a few weeks later that we saw a pack of Coyote's on our game camera outside our house where we had been leaving food scraps for the deers and rabbits . Poor Bobby tried to let us know something was wrong. I still feel bad about what happened to him to this day. Bobby was very beautiful and friendly and unique looking with his lovely fluffy fur and large Main Coon body. We will never forget him. See you in Heaven Bobby . In honor of Bobby we named our new male kitten Bobby Jr. He is forever loved and missed.
