Wilhelmina Abate, 77, of 10 Verndale Circle, died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph V. Abate.
Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Maria (Soares) Fidalgo.
A lifelong resident of Bristol, she had been employed at the Converse Rubber Co., formerly of Bristol, for 8 years, retiring in 1965. During World War II, she worked at the Collins and Aikman Co., formerly of Bristol.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church.
She is survived by a son, Paul J. Abate of Bristol.
The funeral service will be Monday at 9 a.m. in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Chestnut Street.
