Son of John William Sharples and Florence I. Morrill, married Doris E. Saeger, had three known children

D. Morril Sharples, age 81, of Swanton, passed away April 26, 2000, at Flower Hospital, after a long illness. Morril was a self employed farmer all of his life, He also worked as a steel fabricator for Odland Iron Works for 15 years, and he taught steel fabrication at Penta County Schools for 20 years. He was a member of Spencer Union Church of Christ all of his life and served as a Deacon; he was a 50 year member and Past Master of Swanton Lodge #555. He also belonged to the York Rite, the Scottish Rite, and the Zenobia Shriners and the Eastern Star. Morrill was a Harding Township trustee for 20 years and served on the Lucas County Soil & Water Board for 12 years. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Doris; Children, Aneita (John) Radov of Watsonville, CA, Kent ( Linda) Sharples of Daytona Beach, FL, and Doryl (James) Hodgins of Northville MI, seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Friends may call st the Biel-Malone Funeral Home, Swanton, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2000. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Spencer Union Church of Christ. Interment Sharples Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the church, Swanton Lodge will hold Masonic services Friday evening at 7p.m. in the funeral home
