Mary R. (Wempen) Moore
Riverton-A graveside service for Casper resident Mary R. (Wempen) Moore, 84, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
She died Nov. 13, 2005, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, after a long battle with lung disease.
Born March 1, 1921, in morris, Neb., she was the seventh of 12 children of Tolena D. (Shipper) and John F. Wempen Sr.; and, in 1934, moved with her family to a homestead east of Pavillion.
On Feb. 13, 1941, she married Lynn F. Moore. He preceded her in death in 1977, after 36 years of marriage.
Their first home was east of Pavillion. The couple then moved several times throughout Wyoming and North Dakota with his work in residential construction. They finally made their home on Riverview Road in 1954.
She later settled in the Rendezvous Senior Citizen Apartments. The last few years were spent in Casper where she could be closer to her family. Her interests included working in her yard and flower gardens; sewing for her family and crocheting; fishing; and family get-togethers on holidays and special occasions.
Survivors include her daughter, Loretta Brewbaker, and son, Richard "Dick" Moore, of Casper; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and brother, George Wempen, and sister, Louise Richardson, of Riverton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; five brothers, John, Fred, Art, Ed and Robert; and four sisters, Dorothy, Elfrida, Margaret and Tracy.
