Linda Jane Jones, age 73, of Newport News, Virginia, passed away on September 6, 2023, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 26, 1949, in Winfield, Kansas to the late Vaits F. and Doloris Golightley Fulk, Jr. She attended Winfield schools, WHS class of 1968. Linda worked at Busch Gardens Williamsburg for 26 years. Outside of work, Linda especially loved family gatherings and had a passion for sewing, quilting, and genealogy. In addition to her parents, daughter Lisa Ann, son Darrell, her sister Marilyn, and Brother Vaits F. Fulk, lll preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Walter, daughter Angela Payne (John), grandchildren Susanna, Kevin, Justin, Tanner, Zachary, Ashley, and Hanna, and 5 great-grandchildren; sister Brenda Fisk (Kelly), uncle Dick Golightley (Linda), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial and graveside services will be held at a later date in her hometown Winfield, Kansas. To celebrate Linda's extraordinary love for our furry family members, memorial contributions may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, PO Box 385 Gloucester, Virginia 23061. Giving in her memory is like one last cuddle for her kind soul. We wrap ourselves in patchwork memories of a loving wife, mother, and doting grandmother, remembering the laughter she brought, the care she showed, and the creativity she shared. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love, ensuring her spirit will forever quilt our hearts with joy. Rest in peace, our Queen of Quilts!
