Swannanoa - Bessie Lee Grant Moody (Nanny) went to be with her Lord on May 2, 2007.

She was born November 29, 1914 in Clay County. She was the daughter of the late Haley Samuel Grant and Ilar Samantha Mann Grant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Oliver Moody who died in December 1986; a daughter Patricia Jo Coats and Harold Samuel Moody and a infant granddaughter Cristy Michelle Coats.

She is survived by her daughter; Mary Moody Dorato, and her husband Bob, of Swannanoa; daughter in law Harriette Roberts Moody, of Swannanoa; son in law Ray Coats, and his wife Jane, of Fletcher; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church of Warne, NC. She actively attended the First Baptist Church of Swannanoa.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Nanny was noted by her smiles, her pleasant ways and her wonderful sense of humor.

Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park.
