Sgt. Robert C. Washburn, of Lansing, Mich., attached to Carlstrom aviation field fell three thousand feet to his death while attempting a parachute drop from an airplane. The attempted feat was in connection with a two day field program being carried out by flyers of the army base. The accident was witnessed by several thousand spectators.
