She is survived by her two sons, Jim Howard and his wife, Chris of Longview TX and Kyle Howard and his wife, Cora of Forked Island; her sister, Kathleen Laughlin Sekhani and her husband Tom of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Kahal Nelson Howard and his wife Sonja of Bell City and Kasie Beth Howard and her partner Derrick Blackwell of Lake Charles; two great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Howard of Bell City and Dak Blackwell of Lake Charles; three step grandchildren, Marsha Hardy Granger and her husband Ken of Youngsville, Kelly Hardy and his wife Shea of Ft. Walton Beach, and Jennifer Hardy Curtright and her husband Christian of Milford, KA; seven step great grandchildren; five step great-great grandchildren; one nephew, Kevin Sekhani and his wife Katrina of Lafayette, one niece Sheila Trahan and her husband Jarred of Breaux Bridge; her sister-in-law, Marella Simon Laughlin of Carencro; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Russell Abney, Jr. and stepmother, Edith Pittman Abney and Mary Genevieve Nunez Laughin and stepfather, Hines Curtis "Buster" Laughin; her infant daughter, Shasta James Howard; her husband, A.J. Howard; her brother, Hines Curtis Laughin; and her nephew, Mark Laughin.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all of the staff at Maison deMonde Living Center for their care of Ms. Fay.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 8:30 AM until the procession departs for the church at 12:45 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
