Tamara Sue Sweeney, 65, died Friday, November 18, 2022, in the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on September 23, 1957, in Ironton, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Betty Johnson Taylor.

Tamara was proud of first becoming an LPN and furthered her education to become a Registered Nurse, retiring from the Southern Ohio Medical Center with over 40 years of dedicated service.

Tamara was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ariya Crace.

Surviving are her husband, Franklin Ray Sweeney, a daughter with whom she resided, Tara (Fred) Jordan; two stepsons, Christian (Sherrie) Sweeney and Sean Sweeney; three sisters, Dawn Taylor, Jan Knipp and Jeana Wigglesworth; three grandchildren, Savannah, Delaney and Taylor and three great-grandchildren, Adelynn, Keegan and Alayna.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21st, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME with Wayne Sweeney officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.

The family will receive guests at Brants from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
