Philip P. Klaus, 56, farmer of Rt.1 St. Mary's died unexpectedly at 6 pm Thursday at his residence. Death was attributed to a coronary attack.

Born March 16, 1916, in Landeck, he was a son of Albert and Mary Frances(Dimond) Klaus. He was married Feb 2, 1937 in Delphos to Lucinda Meyer, who survives.

Also surviving are seven sons, Albert F, Robert, and Kenneth, all of the Spencerville area, James of Cridersville, and Philip Jr, Richard, and Michael, all of home; six daughters, Mrs George(Phyllis)Seffernick of Rt 2 Spencerville, Mrs. Robert(Louise)Renner of Rt 5, Van Wert, Cecelia Klaus of Celina, Mrs Douglas(Dorothy)Geise of Delphos, And Rosemary and Cheryl of home; two sisters, Margaret Klaus of Venedocia, and Mrs, Leonard(Elizabeth)Meyer of Spencerville; three brothers, Alfred, Joseph, and Eugene, all of the Venedocia area and 21 grandchildren.

A brother, Frank, and a sister, Rosemary are deceased. Mr Klaus served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the National Framers Organization and of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Spencerville, and its Holy Name Society.

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 1:30 pm Monday in the church with the Rev. Robert Donnelly, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Landeck.
