On June 5, 2023, George Davis Calvert, Jr. beloved husband of Joanne Yundt Calvert, dear father of George D Calvert, 111(Daphne McWilliams), Hannah Calvert Roggenstein (Eddie, Jr), William Norris Calvert, 2nd (Halla Elias) and Zoe Calvert Webb (|Ryan), devoted brother of Charles Baltimore Calvert (Kathi). He is also survived by six grandchildren, a nephew and many cousins.

Raised in Baltimore, Davis graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic on North Avenue, continuing on to Washington and Lee University and Johns Hopkins University. A devout Episcopalian, he served at both St. David's and Church of the Redeemer, where he is a communicant. His earliest jobs were with architectural firms as a draftsman, leading him eventually to, The Whiting Turner Contracting Company, where after thirty plus years, he retired as Senior Vice President.

As a direct male descendant of Sir George Calvert, Baron of Baltimore, the founder of Maryland, Davis has served as a past Governor of The Society of The Ark and The Dove, a member of Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Maryland, Sons of the American Revolution, Society of the War of 1812 in the State of Maryland, Descendants of the Signers of the Bush Declaration, and the Jamestowne Society. Even though he was eligible for many more societies through both his Calvert family lineage and his mother's Virginia connections, he only joined those in which he could be active.

Immensely proud of his family, he was also quite proud of the work he did with the Boy Scouts of Troop 35, Church of the Redeemer. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster for many years and Scoutmaster for many more, serving at that time 85 – 100 boys. His direct manner and consistency have left a lasting mark on the young men (and fathers) he counseled.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Church of the Redeemer, 5603 N Charles St. Baltimore, MD 21210 on Saturday, June 10th at 11:00 AM. Th Interment will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorials in his name may be made to Riversdale Historical Society, 4811 Riversdale Road, Riverdale, MD 20787, Historic St. Mary's City Foundation, Inc., P. O.
