Died, on the 27th inst. at her residence on the North Fork of Buffalo Creek, Rockbridge County, Va., Mrs Drusilla Leech, relict of John S. Leech, Esq , dec'd, in the 80th year of her age. She was a Christian woman from her youth, having connected herself in early life with the Presbyterian Church under the pastorate of Rev. A. B. Davidson. Modest and unobtrusive during life, she filled the duties of daughter, wife, mother and widow as became a Christian woman, and passed quietly into the bosom of her God, whom she had served from her youth up. She left two children, W. B. F. Leech and Mrs. James Strain.
And well may they say:
"My mother! at that holy name
Within my bosom there's a gush
Of feeling, which no time can tame:
A feeling, which, for years of fame
I would not—could not crush."
