J.D., as he was better known, was the son of Rollie Ray and Nannie Bearden, brother of Nell Ray Bearden Wilkes and husband of Margaret Ellen Solomon. They had three children, Daniel Ray (8-27-61),Rebecca Joann (2-11-65) and Nannie fay (8-3-67. J.D. died in 1969 with an apparent heart attack at age 42 and his wife Ellen died suddenly in 1971. He was the grandson of James M. and Ida O. Bearden. He is buried at Booneville cemetery as are his parents and grandparents.

James Daniel Bearden died Tuesday of last week at Donaldson Hospital after becoming ill a few hours earlier. He was 42 years old, services were last Thursday at Higgins Funeral HOme, with the Rev. Wesley Holden officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery. A native of Lincoln County, Mr. Bearden was the son of Mrs. Nannie McGee Bearden of Mimosa, who survives, and the late Rolly Ray Bearden. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his mother are his widow, Mrs. Ellen Solomon Bearden; a son, Dan Bearden, and two daughters, Joanne and Nan Bearden, all of Mimosa, as a sister, Mrs. Don Wilkes of Fayetteville.
