WILLA MARGARET BARR Peacefully at the Betel Home in Selkirk, Willa passed away on January 22, 2003. She was born on the family farm at Grassmere on July 5, 1920, the eldest daughter of Herb and Reva Appleyard. After attending school at Tecumseh and helping to care for her younger brother and sisters, Willa worked at various jobs in the Stonewall area and then moved to Winnipeg. She married Les Barr on June 9, 1945. Les and Willa farmed at Balmoral for 47 years and raised three children. After operating a dairy farm for many years they sold the cattle and had the freedom of travelling, visiting and relaxing. Willa was predeceased by Les in 1992. After his passing, Willa sold the family farm and moved to Stonewall and later to Selkirk. Willa had been a resident of the Betel Home since 1993. A prayer service will be held on Friday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall.
