David Jefferson Acree, 52, of Wake Forest passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011. David was born June 7, 1958 in Coral Gables, FL, the son of Richard M. Acree, Sr. and Betty Jones Acree. He graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh in 1976 and attended the University of Florida. Over the course of his full, wonderful life, he touched many lives. He will be remembered forever for his faith, his wit, and his generosity. He will also be remembered for his deep love of family and friends, his caring and forgiving nature, and doing the NY Times crossword puzzle in ink. His is survived by mother, Betty Jane Acree; brother Richard M Acree, Jr and his wife Amanda, Dwayne D Ross; sister Margaret Acree Cooper and her husband C. Beverly Cooper Jr; nieces Emily Purser and Alexandra Acree, and Buggs. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 28 at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1704 Oberlin Rd, Raleigh with visitation immediately following. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to their friends and coworkers for their love and support during this difficult time. In recognition and appreciation of David's loving and generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Child Fund International (childfund.org), Wake County SPCA (spcawake.org), or a charity of one's choice in lieu of flowers.
