Betty Jones Acree, 84, of Raleigh passed away in North Augusta, SC on Wednesday, December 10.

Betty was born January 17, 1930 in Laurens County, SC, the daughter of Lewis E. and Alpha Belle Jones. Betty retired from Hudson Belk and was active in White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Betty had a kind and generous spirit and was a strong, humble woman of faith. She was a true earth angel-- one always walked away with a smile from being blessed by her presence.

She is survived by her son Richard M Acree, Jr and his wife Amanda of North Augusta, SC; daughter Margaret A. Cooper and her husband C. Beverly Cooper Jr of Raleigh, NC; and two granddaughters, Emily J Purser of Asheville, NC, and Alexandra Acree of North Augusta, SC. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Acree, and son, David Acree.

A memorial service will be held at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1704 Oberlin Road, Raleigh on Saturday, 12/20/14 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Interfaith Food Shuttle (foodshuttle.org) or a charity of your choice.
