The former Meta Winkel was born April 9, 1898 in Town of Scheswig, a duaghter of Fred and Emilie Feldt Winkel. She attended dirstrict school at Rockville.
She married Arthur Thielke on June 3, 1916. They farmed the Thielke homestead farm at Louis Corners until he died in 1942.
She married Raymond Beckman on May 28, 1948, and the couple lived in Kiel following their marriage.
Mrs Beckmann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel and its ladies Aid Society.
Surviving ar five daughters, Mrs Henry (Evelyn) Weinberger of Hartford, Conn., Mrs Lewis (Gladys) Allen of Sutherlin, Ore., Mrs Earl (Elaine) Buswell of West Bend, Mrs Werner (Carol) Werkemeister of Paradise Valley, AZ. and Mrs Barry (Jean) Robinson of Henderson, TN, two step-daughters Mrs Henry (Jeannette) Manis of Milwaukee, and Mrs Ira (Joyce) Ladyman of Carondolet, IL. 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs Walter Klemme of Kiel.
Three sisters, two brothers and a grandson preceded her in death.
