Mrs J.T. Cannon, 90, member of the first graduating class of Bessie Tift College, then known as the Monroe Female College, died Thursday at her residence, 254 Garland St, Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Trinity Chapel, with the Elder H.O. Nash officiating.
She was a member of the East Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R.A. Byrd, Mrs. Ben Dixon, both of Atlanta, and Mrs. G.C. Brooks, of Forsyth; five sons, D.H, H.H, J.A. Cannon all of Atlanta, F.E. Cannon of Louisville, Ky, and T.A. Cannon of Forsyth; 22 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
