"General of Napoleon's Army". Aged 15 years, he joined French army. He participated to battles of Nice (1792), Saspelleo (1793), Campredon, Boulou. Then he was commissioned Captain by the 'Convention Nationale'. He was commanding during Italy campains of Napoleon and fought at Lodi, Bassano, Arcole (1795), Aoste, Châtillon, Borgo-Forte, Frosinone, Naples, Ivrée, Montebello, Mincio. He was wounded several times especialy at Marengo. At this period he was commanding hussars (cavalry). In Elbe Island, he is one of the key men to reject at sea the english troops coming to capture this island. He commanded the elit troop of the 'grenadiers à cheval de la garde impériale' (French Horse Guard), during the campains of Austria, Prusse and Poland. He was succesfull especialy at Austerlitz (1805), Iéna (1806), Eylau (1807), Friedland (1807). At the end of 1807, he was sent to Spain with his regiment: the 26th dragoons. He was at the battles of Burgos, Tudela, Calatatayud, Uclés, Truxillo (1809). He was titled in 1809 'baron de l'Empire' by Napoleon. Following years, new battles for him: Medellín, Talavera, Ocana, several fights in the Sierra-Morena, Azuaga, Olivenza, Badajoz (1811), Gebora. Fighting fiercely at Campo-Mayor, at the head of the 26th Dragoons, he is surrounded by british dragoons and killed. His name is engraved on the 'arc de triomphe' at Paris.
