Stephen Edward Vance
1963 - 2023

With heavy hearts yet filled with precious memories, we announce the passing of a faithful servant, Stephen Edward Vance. Born on December 20, 1963, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Stephen's journey on this earth was marked by his dedicated service to others, his unwavering faith, and his steadfast loyalty to family and friends. Despite being born with health challenges, Stephen continually demonstrated resilience and strength, never allowing his circumstances to dampen his spirit or deter his commitment to living a meaningful life.

Stephen was the epitome of reliability, whether as an employee at Harmons for 16 years or as the Sunday School secretary in his local ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His thoughtful nature shone through in everything he did; from his love for feeding birds and collecting Hot Wheels cars, to his fondness for board and card games. Stephen found joy in the simple things, including watching Disney movies and reading scriptures. He served a full-time mission for the Church, a testament to his profound faith and dedication.

Stephen's life was a testament to the teachings found in Moroni 7:45, "And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." Indeed, Stephen's love for his family, faith, and fellow beings was evident in his actions and demeanor. His family and faith were what mattered most to him, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.

Stephen is survived by his sister, Valerie (Scott) Dalton; and brothers: James (Hollie) Vance, Eldon (Suzanne) Vance and Regan (Jana) Vance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Reita Hetchler Vance.

As we celebrate Stephen's life and cherish his memory, we invite you to share your experiences with him on the memorial page. Stephen's life was well-lived!
