Edith Ann Hunter was born to Roy Clayton Hunter and Nona Opal (Miller) Hunter on December 23, 1937, in Jewell, Jewell County, Kansas. She passed away on April 5, 2022, at the age of 84. She was raised with sisters Venda, Melva and brother Richard. Her parents and siblings all predeceased her.

She began her education in the Jewell grade school. Interestingly enough, her third grade teacher was her older sister, Venda (Hunter) Doxon. Edith graduated from Jewell Rural High School then attended Emporia State University where she earned a BS Degree in Elementary Education. She later earned a Masters Degree in Library Science. After this she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where she worked as a librarian

Edith married James Beveridge, Jr. on June 29, 1968, in Jewell, Kansas. The couple then made their home in Mesa. Arizona.

Edith is survived by her husband James, her daughters Jamie Swaim Darcy and Jonna Copalman, her grandchildren Payton Swaim, Aubrey Chitwood, Riley Swaim, Nora Copalman, James Copalman and three great grandchildren, Ikaika Swaim, Chloe Swaim and Athena Chitwood.

Services were provided by Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery. The family requested that donations be made in Edith's name to either The Sunshine Acres Children's Home or to the Emporia State University Foundation.
