According to a legal document and some census records, she was most likely born about 1800 and died after the June 21, 1880 census.

Daughter of Thomas William Pope, a RW soldier, and Charlotte Dewberry.

Wife of Reuben Giles.

Mother of Cora, Polly, Elvira, Harriet, Angeline, William, Elizabeth, Robert, James Bonaparte, Thomas, Fielding R., Martha and Louisa.

According to oral family history, Reuben and Sallie's remains are buried elsewhere and the monument in Green Creek was erected by a descendant in their memory. The dates inscribed are incorrect. He is enumerated in the 1850 census with Sarah and family but not with them in 1860. From his Estate papers he died Apr 14, 1851, Estate File 1046. Sarah, age 80, enumerated in the household of her son, Fielding, in the June 21, 1880 census.
