Stanley B. Adams, 71, of Bartlett, departed this life Thurs., June 15, 2023, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. He was born June 24, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Paul George and Sara Jean Bush Adams. Mr. Adams was a senior field engineer in telecommunications, having worked for various companies (including MCI and Sprint) in Ohio, Indiana, Oklahoma and Tennessee. He served as a preacher for various churches of Christ and enjoyed working with Ham radios, writing various articles and restoring antique radios, and he was an avid reader. He was married to Tommy Sue Scott on August 20, 1971, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three daughters, Nicole Adams of Cordova, TN, Erin Adams of Springfield, TN, and Rachel Mayo and husband Raborn of Millington; a son, Tom Adams and his wife Vanessa of Bartlett; a granddaughter, Layla Adams; a step-granddaughter, Cheyenne Crawford and her husband Micah; a step-great-granddaughter, Stephanie Crawford; and a brother Chuck Adams of Wabash, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family requests that memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, American Cancer Society, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Ham since 1971 thanks to the help of Rip Ward, SK, WB4FJU, Chief Engineer of WBBJ-TV Jackson, Tn. And the encouragement of ex-WB4LHV (NU5O) Andy Masters. Former calls of WN4AZT, WB5KWE, WD4AJR Worked at WCNW, WKUZ, WFHC, WBBJ, KETA, WTHJ, WLJT. 18 years with MCI Telecommunications as a Senior Field Engineer over a four state area. Microwave, Fiber, Electronics and Power. Currently laid off from for Sprint PCS as an RF Engineer. I have designed and built cellular PCS sites in the Memphis MTA. Almost 9 years of service. Here is a picture of my latest baby, soon to be on 160m, the TOP Band in AM. Microphone will be a 1929 RCA 50-A. It is finally under construction. My Receiver is a completely reconditioned Hammarlund SP-600, backup is a National NC-156. I have a National V Mrk 2, Yaesu FT-101E and an Icom-756 as SSB, CW rigs. I love to listen at night at the low end of 40 meters for CW ops between the heterodynes.
