William Henry Eugene "Gene" Mann, age 84 of LaFayette, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was born to the late John Henry Mann and Alma Brown Mann in LaFayette, was a lifelong resident of LaFayette and was a member of Revival Baptist Church. Gene retired from the carpet industry in 2007 after more than 30 years and was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Mae Hardy Mann; son, Larry Eugene Mann; grandson, Eugene Ray Mann; and siblings, Ruby Lee Bugg, R.B. Mann, Ora Mae Fincher, Ivolene Eaton, and Etta Mann. Gene is survived by his loving children, Wanda (Charles) Alexander, Lisa (Tony) Turnipseed, and Johnny Mann; sister, Linda Wells; grandchildren, Christopher M. Alexander, Keri (Josh) Epperson, Justin (Kayla) Ward, Misty (Bo) Fulton, Torie Mitchel, Casey Mann, Tristan Mann, Jacie Mann, Morgan Jackson, and Kenzie Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, June 9, 2023 in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Justin Ward officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery, Trion. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday. Flowers and memorial contributions to the family will be accepted.
