DEATH OF JOSEPH H. LONG - a well-known grocer of this city, died at six o'clock on Monday evening at his home, No. 429 West Lemon Street, from a complication of diseases, in his forty-ninth year. He had been in failing health for many months. Deceased was born in this city, and was a son of Mrs. Mary J. and the late Abraham Long. He was a resident of this city his entire life. In early life he was engaged at blacksmithing, which he continued until eight years ago. For the past three years he had been engaged in the grocery business. While engaged at blacksmithing, he operated the shop by the Pennsylvania Railroad, adjoining Hotel Lancaster. He was a member of the Church of God and of Lancaster Council, No. 12. Jr. O.U.A.M., Knights of Malta, and the Artisang' Order of Mutual Protection. He is survived by his wife, who was Anna Findley, of this city, before marriage, and one daughter, Martha. He is also survived by his mother, residing in this city, and the following brothers: Isaac S. , George M., Harry R., Taylor B., William D. D., of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Mowrer, of this city and Mrs. Emma J. Reed, wife of Rev. H. E. Reed, of New Germantown, New Jersey. The funeral will be held from his late home on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, with private interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Physician was Dr. Snavely. Death cause by tuberculosis.
