Edwin Ackerman, 76, died Saturday, April 18, 1998 at Vencor Hospital in Louisville. Born March 22, 1922 in Highland Park, NJ he was the son of the late Philip and Minnie Berkowitz Ackerman. He had been in retail sales in a number of stores and had worked at Kroger of Harrodsburg. He was a member of VFW Post #6935 in Harrodsburg and was a navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include: one daughter, Edwina Ballman, Anderson, IN; one step daughter, Carla Sue Hanayik, Dayton, OH; two brothers, Harold Ackerman, Harrodsburg and Irving Ackerman, Foster City, CA; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Private services will be held. There will be no visitation. Ransdell Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
