Betty Jean Fontenot Adams (October 25, 1934 - January 8, 2022)

Betty Jean Fontenot Adams, 87, passed peacefully following a brief illness, to join her Lord and Savior on January 8,2022. Beloved widow and soulmate to Donald W. Adams; loving mother and friend to Deborah Barron (David), Sharon Lemieux (Rocky), Monty Adams (Ramona), Suzette Adams, Donald Adams Jr, Aaron Adams (Theresa), Kelly Adams (Melinda) and her only surviving sibling and brother, Urban Fontenot (Brenda). She loved and adored her immediate grandchildren Celeste Miller Henley (Rick), Jade Forouzanfar, Chad Barron, Nathen Barron and great grandchildren Jaci Foster, Calise Henley and Saylor Henley. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Urban and Mary Martin Fontenot, brothers Joseph (Sonny), Lee Roy, James Lloyd and Aubra Fontenot and son Michael Adams.

She was the business owner of Betty's Beauty Salon for over 50 years and took great pride in her profession and the friendships she made with her loyal clients. Her love for and faith in our Lord was immense and she remained an active member of Millville Baptist Church. She loved sewing, crocheting, and knitting and was sure to create heirlooms for family and friends. Her love for family gatherings to share her cooking skills was unmatched and celebrations ranged from Birthdays through all Holidays. Her love extended beyond the living as she was always sure to attend the graves of her deceased loved ones and place flowers for Holidays and All Saints Day. Our hearts are broken and we know that our lives have been forever changed but we are so grateful that God chose her for us. She was the family Matriarch and the values and love she gave will remain with us as we continue to rejoice in her love and celebrate her life.

"I am not gone. I remain here beside you Just in a different form. Look for me in your heart And there you will find me in our love which forever lives on. In those moments when you feel alone Look for me in your thoughts And there you will find me in sweet memories that burn strong. Every time a tear Forms in your beautiful eyes Look up to the heavens And there you will see me Smiling down from God's glorious skies." ~Injete Chesoni

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 10am until 2:00pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana. The Funeral Service with Pastor Joshua Day will begin at 2:00pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
