Marie was born April 18, 1915 at Antioch to Jim and Dollie (Cruzan) Branstetter.

Marie was raised on a farm and was accustomed to hard work. The family later settled at Tuttle where Marie graduated from high school. She was known to her family members by the nickname Dous.

She married Leonard Thorp Oct 9, 1934 in Oklahoma City. Two daughters were born Pat and Charlene. Leonard had begun to call her by a nickname "Rick" which would stick the remainder of her life.

The family lived in the Oklahoma City area around Capital Hill. In the early 1950s they removed to a rural setting about 20 miles west of Marietta to the community of Rubottom. The couple divorced about 1956.

Marie married Thomas Wayne Rudd 15 Nov 1958 in Wichita Falls, TX. He went by the nickname Windy. They made their home west of Ardmore and eventually Lone Grove. Rick and Windy Rudd were well liked by all that knew them and always kept a beautiful home.

Rick died March 6, 2002, at her residence at the age of 86.
