Skyler Jayden Delaney, age 18, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Visitation for Skyler will be Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Gallagher Funeral Home and again from 10:00-11:00 am at Bentley United Pentecostal Church on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Services will be Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at Bentley United Pentecostal Church with Pastor David Kimsey and Randy Briggs officiating.

Randi Beaudion set up a GoFundMe on behalf of Angela Delrie to help with funeral expenses.

Friends and family were asked to wear green for the service because it was one of his favorite colors. Interment will follow at Big Creek Cemetery in Pollock, with Keith Maxwell officiating.

Skyler is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles "Fergie" Ferguson, and Nannie Ferguson; great grandpa, James Delaney; great grandma, Evelyn Cameron; maternal great grandparents, Thelma and Joseph Ortego, Sr.; a cousin, Jaelei Cubbit; and an uncle, Ryan Delrie.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Dusty and Heather Delaney; brother, Kaleb Gerald; sister, Mya Zimmer; paternal grandparents, Robert and Angie Delrie; grandfather, Greg Delaney; maternal grandparents, Brian Ortego and Tina Cameron; great grandma, Dolly West; step great grandma, Sharon Delaney; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Skyler was the kind of boy that would light up whatever room he was in. He loved basketball and his tennis shoes. He was a selfless person and would give his time and resources to help others.

He was a good student and even represented the state nationally in the J.A.G. program. He worked at Wendy's and Walmart on 28 E. and enjoyed his jobs. He had the heart of a hero but the personality of a clown; he was loved by so many.

He was also an organ donor, helping others even in his own loss. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Colten Reynolds, Gracie Delrie, Roger Delrie, Cody Delrie, Naidris Brown, Kobe Bradford, DJ Blue, and Kenny Beaudion, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers are Kaleb Gerald, Timothy Delaney, James Michael Delaney, Braylon Scott, Gavin McCarty, Euri McCarty, Nathaniel Pierce, Jonathan Pierce, Ethen Ortego, and Julian Mickens II
