Robert Lee Von Roeder is the son of Dr. Herbert Spencer Von Roeder and Loys Ethel Childers. He is the husband of Billie Jean Morgan.

Obituary taken from the Abilene Reporter News, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas - Wednesday, 10 April 1963

Funeral will be held at the First Christian Church in Snyder at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 1963 for Robert Lee Von Roeder, 32, lineman for Texas Electric Service Co., who was killed when he came in contact with a 66,000-volt power line while on a job near here about 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Rev. Allen Lynch, pastor, of First Christian, will officiate. Assisting him will be Rev. Hollis Herren, pastor of the Nazarene Church in Snyder.

Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Abilene, with Bell Funeral Home in charge. Rev. Earl Sherman, pastor of Southwest Part Baptist Church, will officiate at burial.

Robert was helping put in a new line to service an irrigation line just south of Snyder on the old Colorado City road. Witnesses said he was helping raise a pole to set it upright when he came in contact with the hot wire.
He was dead on arrival at Cogdell Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 30 1930, he married Billie Jean Morgan June 1, 1945 in Abilene. He graduated Wylie High School in Abilene, Texas in 1948. He was a deacon in the First Christian Church in Snyder and had been a volunteer fireman for the past nine years.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Kleta Kay, 8; two sons, Johnny, 13, and Phil, 5, all of the home; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Hubert S. Von Roeder of San Antonio; one borther, Marion of Monroe, La. His wife's parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Morgan of 2602 Marshall, Abilene
