Mr. Will Mathis Dead.
A sad death was that of Mr. Will Mathis which occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Tom Dunlap.
He had suffered several years with paralysis, and was stricken down Wednesday. Dr. J.I. Wilson was called in, and all that loving hands and medical aid could, was done, but he died Thursday, March 5. He had been a citizen of Grady county for many years, and was a member of Woodland M.E. Church.
He was a kind and devoted husband, loving, affectionate father.
Surviving him is his devoted wife and five children. Messrs, Tom and Bart Mathis, Mrs. Neel Thomas of Jacksonville, Mrs. Tom Dunlap and Mrs. Robert Walker, of Grady county.
The death of this beloved gentleman caused much regret to his relatives and numerous friends, and the bereaved family has the sympathy of their many friends.
The body was laid to rest at Bold Springs, in Grady County, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. Harry Stubbs, assisted by Rev. Mr. Owens.

IN MEMORIAM.
In memory of William Mathis, who departed this life on March 5th, 1914 the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.T. Dunlap.
Mr. Mathis was born Sept, 4, 1850. He was married to Miss Lizzie Mills, in December, 1873. She passed away in March, 1891. This union was blessed with six children.
On Oct. 22, 1891, he was married to Miss Kate S. Sarrett.
He was a good citizen, a kind father and one of the best of neighbors.
Although he was not a member of any church at the time of his death he was a strong believer in the Baptist faith.
He suffered a number of years, but the immediate cause of his death was a paralytic stroke. He was laid to rest in Bold Springs cemetery, on Friday, March 6th. The funeral services were conducted by Revs. Owens and Stubbs.
The deceased is survived by a devoted wife and five heart-broken children.
"A precious one from us has gone;
A voice we lived is tilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled."
