Havana, IL - Dorothy J. Weakly, 84, of 615 E. Main St., Havana, IL passed away at 11:35 pm Sat. Feb. 10, 2007.

She was born April 8, 1922 in Bethany, IL, the daughter of Arthur D. "AD" and Ethel Jenny Trulock Tipsword. She married Melvin Weakly May 13, 1940 and he preceded her in death March 3, 1990.

Mrs. Weakly was the bookkeeper and co-owner of Weakly and Sloan John Deere Implement Dealership in Havana for 35 years. She was a graduate of Bethany High School and Illinois Commercial College in Champaign. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Havana, the Havana Woman's Club, Women in networking, the Lakewood Ladies Golf Association, she formerly served as a trustee for Laurel Hill Cemetery and was an avid bowler.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennie (Rick) Velde of Lewistown, IL and Kathie (Tim) Pedigo of Havana. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Rick (Brenda) Velde, Brandon ( Sandy ) Velde, Shelly (Dan) Newton and Tim Pedigo and seven great grandchildren. One brother John (Marilyn) Tipsword of Bethany also survives along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Wed. Feb. 14, 2007 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Rev. Robert Smith. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mason District Hospital Building fund or the First United Methodist Church of Havana. There will be no visitation.
