Family Obituary:
Harrison - Joseph A. Alfredo passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 23, 2019, at the age of 87, in Venice, Florida. He was born November 26, 1931, in Mt. Vernon, New York, to Albert and Rose Alfredo. He is the husband of his devoted wife, Joann Morell Alfredo, of 61 years.

Joseph lived his life to the fullest and always spoke fondly of each experience he had the opportunity to be part of.
He graduated from Cornell University ('53) as a Landscape Architect. He was later to become an officer for the Alfredo Landscaping and Nurseries Companies for over 40 years. The company provided landscaping products and services all over the tri-state area. Much of his designs are still prevalent today including, Resurrection Church, St. Joseph's Church (Bronxville), Yonkers Raceway, IBM properties, Westchester Country Club, and the 1964 World's Fair pavilion in New York.
He was stationed in Germany as a Lieutenant in the US Army and built baseball, football, and soccer fields, plus basketball courts for the service men while overseas. A few of his other accomplishments include, being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies, recipient of the Lady Bird Johnson Beautifying America Award, and was named "Man of the Year" by the Boys & Girls Towns of Italy.

He found joy in making others laugh from his art of telling jokes. He built strong friendships in school and through his memberships to the Westchester Country Club (50 years) and the Boca Raton Resort and Club.
Joe was an avid golfer, NY Yankees, and Harrison High School football fan.
He loved giving back to the community having hosted St. Vincent's Hospital Christmas Fairs, and other charity events at his home in Harrison, NY.
He will be remembered as a fun-loving man who never left the room without making someone smile...and to always leave room for dessert!

He is survived by his dearly beloved wife Joann Morell Alfredo and his 6 children: Albert (Janet), Joann Hlywa (Andy), Joseph (Roberta), James (Eileen), Marc (Laurie), and Gregory. Adored Grandchildren, Jaclyn and Katie Hlywa; Alyssa, Joseph, and Amelia Alfredo.
Brother of Nancy DePippo, Rose Carille. Predeceased by his parents and brother Frank.
