He engaged in the five principal battles on the front lines as well as many skirmishes before and after these battles. After the Armistice was signed he served one year with the Army of Occupation.

After returning home he was associated with the Hancock and Paramount Theaters in the capacity of stage craftsman for 17 years. He was a member of I.A.T.S..E. # 205.

He was married to Mrs. Iva Stallworth Weaver. There were no children.
