FRED BATEMAN DIES
SUDDENLY AT HOME HERE
Fred C. Bateman, 58, prominent barber and long time resident here died suddenly at his home Wednesday afternoon on about 3:30 o'clock. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Maypearl, Interment followed in Maypeatl Cemetery.
Mr. Bateman, who was born on March 14, 1882, at Crockett would have celebrated his 58th birthday Thursday. He moved to Hillsboro when an infant and resided there until 1904 when he moved to Maypearl. He has since made his home in that community where he was a barber. He was married to Miss Clara Wood of Maypearl on August 14, 1905. Mr. Bateman was a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife and their seven children, Mrs. Fredna Camp, Louise, Dona Gene, Homer, Mayo, Boyd, and Jack; a grandson; three brothers and four sisters.
He owned Bateman Barbershop in Maypearl, 57 years old, married, and a resident of Maypearl, burial was Mar. 14 1940, informant was Homer C. Bateman, Clifton Nugent Funeral was in charge of arrangements.
