Sharon K. Meier was born August 18, 1937, in Salina, Kansas, to David B. and Ethel Delilah (Ward) Meier. She passed away at Azria Health in Wichita, Kansas, on March 31, 2023.

Sharon's family lived in Lucas, Kansas, until 1943 when her parents decided to move to Concordia, Kansas. Sharon attended Concordia High school and was a member of the 1955 graduating class.

Sharon married Jack Lyle Coy in Concordia in 1957. The couple became parents of a daughter, Sherri Lynn, born in 1959 in North Tonawanda, New York. The couple later divorced.

Sharon was an employee of the Concordia Blade Empire for many years. She began as an assistant bookkeeper, but later became a typesetter and for many years worked as a reporter and editor where she enjoyed writing feature stories about people on the "People Page".

For more than sixty years, Sharon was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Hospital Auxiliary and the Cloud County Historical Society.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Sherri Wood of Park City, her sister Mary Ann Gile and husband Bill of Citrus Heights, California, also several nieces and nephews

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for April 21, 2023, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Winget officiating. Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation.
