Uncle Dale was attending Barber College in Indianapolis when he met "Mickey," his first wife. They married 26 May 1936 in that city. After school, they moved to Dayton, OH, where Greg and Roberta were born. When Dale took a job in Seattle with Boeing, Mickey didn't like it there and they eventually divorced. She took the two kids, who ended up with their grandmother upon Mickey's death in 1948. Oddly enough, she never made it out of Spokane Co, WA.

His second wife, Ellen Natalie Ecklund, was born 26 Apr 1913 in Sauk Center, MN, and was his co-worker at Boeing. After their marriage 14 Feb 1943 in Seattle, they moved to Wichita Falls, Texas. Dale was drafted by the Army in early 1945, so they moved there because of his assignment to Shephard Field. There, Dale served as mess hall sergeant until his discharge after the war ended in August '45. After the war, they moved to Portland, Oregon, where Kenneth Owen Was born. Twins Karla and Kim were born in St. Paul, MN. Unsure what took Dale and Ellen to Minnesota, unless it was to be nearer her family. They retired to Francisco, IN, where Dale was reared as a young boy and went to school.
