Charles B. Abbott, 65, Greenfield, died at 9:06 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, after a short illness.
Mr. Abbott was born Aug. 10, 1925, In Columbus, Ga. He retired as a master sergeant after 22 years with U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Arlene Abbott, of the home; three daughters, Patricia Dykes and Carol Tool, both of Columbus, and Debbie Mission, a son, Michael Abbott, San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Margaret Stinson and Louise Weeks, both of Macon, three stepchildren, R. Michael Jenkins, Branson, G. Timothy Jenkins, Springfield, and Pamela Kay Hines, Albuquerque, N.M.; 17 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Memorial graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Springfield National Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Morris officiating. Miliary rites will be conducted by personnel from Whiteman Air Force Base. Cremation was under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
