Graveside inurnment services for William S. Hudson, 79, Lawrence, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors by Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 of the V.F.W.
Mr. Hudson died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Tescott, the son of Charles and Elva (Watkins) Hudson. He graduated from Tescott High School in 1939. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served in France, Germany, Scotland, England and Austria in the 216th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He received two Battle Stars.
He attended Kansas University for two years after World War II. He worked for KU Housing and as a spray pilot. He sold real estate for Jarvis Brink, Mitchell Real Estate and for Holmes, Peck and Brown. He was a 51-year member of Perry Masonic Lodge No. 415 AF & AM; a life member of Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 of the V.F.W.; a 57-year member of American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14; and past member of Lawrence Sertoma Club.
He married Eva L. Baysinger June 6, 1943, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Judy Gibler and Sara Hudson, both of Lawrence, and Sue Gibbs, Jarbalo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
